Our History:

From a humble beginning as a carpet cleaner in Camarillo, CA in 2001, Alvin and Becky Alves moved back to Grand Rapids, MI in February 2002 and bought a very small janitorial service company called Diversified Cleaning Services. Within a short time, Alvin became interested in the flooring industry and mastered hardwood floor and carpet installation. With growing experience in the flooring industry, Alvin also began installing resilient flooring and tile. As a result, a "One STOP Flooring Company" developed called Diversified Floor Coverings. Through hard work and dedication, Alvin mastered the flooring industry and was already looking to expand the business.

Alvin wanted a national brand name with strong management and a support staff that provided proven growth. In May of 2003, Alvin and Becky found “S.T.O.P. (Service Team of Professionals) – the National Team of Property Restoration.” Alvin saw how beneficial it was to add Disaster Mitigation and Reconstruction services to his already developed companies. Still locally owned and managed, this intelligent decision enabled one company to deliver national expertise to our local customers here in Michigan which resulted in profound growth.

Towards the end of 2008, Alvin and Becky opened up a second location in Detroit. In mid 2009, the company bought a 16,650 SF office/warehouse which is now the home of their West Michigan operation.

Combining great work ethics, dedication to customer satisfaction, exceptional growth management support and resiliency to change in the industry became the foundation for our company’s upward growth five years in a row. Our personnel have the discipline, expertise, and commitment to deliver quality services. Today, we have clear and distinct plans and procedures to keep growing and improving, not just as a company but more importantly as individuals. After all, each individual hold the key for continuous profitability and sustainable growth both corporately and personally.
